Birth Order Helps Create Us Unique

Parents claim that how kids may turn out relates on when they were born. More and more science agrees. One of the researches written by Kevin Leman confirmed that there are three lists that Leman has put together. that group categorizes of each of three major birth positions. Pick out the list of characteristics that fits you best.

• Perfectionistic, reliable, list-maker, well-organized, critical, serious, scholarly

• Mediator, fewest pictures in the family photo album, avoids conflict, independent, extreme loyalty to the peer group, many friends

• Manipulative, charming, blames others, shows off, people person, good salesperson, precocious

If you recognized with the characteristics in the first list, you may be an only child or a first-born. If the second list fits you better, there is a possibility that you are a middle child. And if the last list fits you better, you may be the youngest or baby in the family.

However, Time magazine issued on November 12, 2007, classified the characteristic of the birth order into three categories as well.

• Oldest siblings may be better educated than younger siblings, they are likelier to hold a professional position, more concerned with meeting parents’ expectations and have higher IQ than younger siblings

• Middle siblings may take longer to choose a career than other siblings, less connected to family, more to friends, lacks the parental recognition first-and last-borns enjoy; may develop self-esteem issues and may de-identify from firstborn, making opposite life choices.

• Younger siblings tend to more tolerant of risk, likelier to be artist, adventurer or entrepreneur, often physically smaller than firstborns, frequently funnier than other siblings, and les likely to be vaccinated than firstborns.
